3-Piece Sleeping Batik Series

this is the first of 3 Batiks I completed as my end of year exam piece. The focus of my project was sleep and falling from unconsciousness into death

I used the warm orange colour to represent the model’s body temperature and though that, her life.

The idea was that, as more of the orange was coloured by the black background, the closer she came to death
